Scholarships There are many scholarships to study and intern abroad! Each scholarship has its own specific requirements and deadlines are often far in advance of program dates. Email GlobalEducation@fmuniv.edu for more information. National Study and Intern Abroad Scholarships Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad Semester and summer awards up to $5,000 to students who are U.S. citizens and currently receive a Federal Pell Grant. Click here for a flyer about the program! Awards for students studying abroad in Africa, Latin American/Caribbean, Asia, Middle East, and Eastern Europe. Click here for a flyer about the program! Fully funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for U.S. citizen undergraduate and graduate students. Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant Awards up to $1,000 for students with 3.75 or higher GPA. Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan Awards for US undergraduate students to study for one semester or academic year in Japan, up to $5,000 for the academic year. Study Abroad Turkey Scholarship for Minority Students Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) award of up to $2,000 to study abroad in Turkey or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Applicants must be African American, Native American, or Hispanic American. Scholarships of $5,000 per semester or $10,000 for the year are available to students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. Priority is given to underrepresented students and non-traditional destinations. Please note that students must apply one year in advance of the semester or year in which they plan to study abroad. Fulbright Commission Summer Institute United Kingdom Full scholarship (tuition, housing, meals, airfare) for Freshmen and Sophomores U.S. citizens to spend the summer studying at a UK university. Preference is given to students who have never been to the UK. Minimum GPA to apply is 3.5. Killam Study Abroad Scholarship for Study in Canada Awards for $10,000 for a year or $5,000 for a semester study abroad in Canada. Award also includes travel stipend and seminars in Ottawa and Washington, DC. Malmberg Scholarship and Fellowship Program Award of up to $10,000 for study abroad in Sweden. Award of $1,000 for U.S. citizens studying abroad. DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service Funding opportunities for students interested in study and research in Germany.
